"I believe in the power of images to uplift: they enable us to remember the good within us and within our world despite how the world might sometimes appear. This is the aim of all the artwork I create - whether it evokes pleasant memories, brings a smile to your face or whispers a message to your soul. My artwork brings me joy, peace and inspiration. It is my sincere hope that it does this for you too."

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL “Joanne Deaker's art works are a light hearted representation of life and coming from a farming background we love her play on words and images. Joanne's art is often a fun and interesting talking point when our friends, family and children see her work! We found dealing with Joanne was a great experience and has given our art more of a personal touch being able to talk to the artist and discuss the artwork which we wanted to purchase.”

Creation/ideation series (on canvas)
Can't afford an original of these two series? Most are now available as pigment ink prints (along with many SOLD designs).
Creation (on Plexiglass)
These are variations of designs similar to those used on canvas but instead mixed media techniques on plexiglass are used. They are produced in series where similar designs are repeated but technique/colour etc is changed so all are original in their own right. Currently there are only a few of these left either in Joanne's studio or at Hoglund Art Glass Gallery - so please make contact if you''re like one.
Bach (on plexiglass)
Developed and perfected over the last few years, these contemporary pieces are created in layers over many days via various mixed media techniques including engraving, embossing, drawing and painting on plexiglass and board. This gives them a unique, almost 3D quality. The bach series was inspired by Joanne's love of little old houses/baches/huts/cabins and sheds around New Zealand's small towns, and the memories they evoke such as holidays, family, friends and fun in the shared connection that makes us human. Currently there are only a few of these left in Joanne's studio, the Majuba Gallery or Wooing Tree Winery - so make contact if you'd like one (or join the new release mailing list to have first dibs on new ones).
Exploration series (on canvas)
Relax into the incredible beauty of the New Zealand Landscape (Note: Spot the trampers in some of them!)
Geo-Graphica on plexiglass
Short for 'geometric graphic'. These semi-abstracts were intuitively developed into recognizable forms after a play around with randomized geometric shapes. This series include landscapes, cityscapes and various other shapes including yachts and wineglasses. Currently there are only a few of these left either in Joanne's studio or at the Majuba Gallery - so please make contact if you'd like one.
